| AMD’s Radeon 4800 in production Unlike the ATI that we knew before, it appears that AMD’s graphics division is running perfectly these days – and ahead of deadlines. Even though the graphics unit has posted an $8 million loss in the first quarter of this year – in an effort to improve market share rather than average selling prices - the graphics business is making progress: We hear the company has struck gold with the RV770 and will be bring the chip to market earlier than expected. http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/37025/135/

| Wow, 1Ghz? GDDR5 @ 2200MHz? Overclocking these might be rather fun... Doubling the TMUs will help Would also mean this is mostly true: http://www.xbitlabs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14742 |

| If they can release HD4870X2 below $500 before the summer, they have nice chance of taking top spot in the performance charts although I'm a fan of single GPU design, so if HD4870 can match HD3870X2, it'll be all good too!

| Any idea what the advantages of GDDR5 are? GDDR4 vs GDDR5, 2200MHz is "low" and both use 1.5v apparently. It almost looks like ATI can cut costs by using GDDR5, but that seems counter-intuitive since one would expect it to cost more than GDDR4. Was a bit over my head: http://www.qimonda-news.com/download...whitepaper.pdf |
