SUNNYVALE, CALIF. -- November 23, 2004 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today introduced the new Mobile AMD Sempron™ processor 3000+ for thin and light notebooks, expanding the popular product family that has redefined everyday computing for today’s mobile lifestyle with AMD’s latest technology. In addition to offering best-in-class performance, this full-featured mobile processor also offers Enhanced Virus Protection (EVP) designed to prevent the spread of certain malicious viruses when enabled by Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).*

New notebook PCs based on the Mobile AMD Sempron processor 3000+ are expected from Packard Bell and Gericom in time for the holiday shopping season.

The Packard Bell EasyNote E6 notebook is expected to be available from Packard Bell in France, Italy, Spain, Nordic countries and the UK later this month. Gericom is planning to offer the Blockbuster Advance Excellent 7000 notebook in Germany this month.

Other global OEMs currently offering Mobile AMD Sempron processor-based notebooks include Acer, Epson Direct Corporation, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, and Sharp.
