AMD Readies Phenom II X6 1100T, 1065T, Phenom II X4 975 Advanced Micro Devices plans to refresh its lineup of high-performance central processing units (CPUs) in the fourth quarter of this year, X-bit labs has learnt. In particular, the company wants to introduce new top-of-the-range six-core chip as well as the fastest quad-core microprocessor. In addition, the company will further broaden the line of its Phenom II X6 "Thuban" products with a relatively affordable CPU. In an attempt to boost performance of its six-core and quad-core processors in advance of the Holiday season, AMD intends to release two new six-core processors Phenom II X6 1100T (3.30GHz), which will be the fastest chip the company has to offer and Phenom II X6 1065T (2.90GHz), which will be the highest-performance six-core offering with 95W thermal design power. In addition, the company will itroduce its most powerful quad-core Phenom II X4 975 chip with 3.60GHz clock-speed.
