Default AMD NOT cutting jobs

Two separate AMD spokespersons denied to BetaNews this afternoon published reports that the company was already implementing a five percent workforce reduction, and that employees were already receiving pink slips.

"AMD confirms that it has not had a reduction in force," states one AMD spokesperson today. "While AMD cannot comment on speculation about what may happen in the future, we confirm that we have not had layoffs at this time."

Actually, AMD just hired a new CMO. Nigel Dessau of IBM and Sun Microsystems fame is now the Cheif Marketing Officer for AMD.

Compensating crappy products with marketing doesn't work. How much do you think would the share price jump if they get a new CEO? 10-20%?

Actually the marketing doesn't care about the product, they only have to sell it, no mather how good or bad it is.
I think AMD ain't that bad in marketing.
