AMD FX 70, 72 and 74 specs tip up

The slowest of the three - the FX 70 - is a 2P Socket F 1207 pin CPU with the hypertransport bus clocked at 2000MHz, the CPU at 2.6GHz and two times 1 MB cache memory on a CPU.

The faster one, the Athlon FX 72, has the same specs but just works at 2.8GHz while the last and fastest one is the FX 74 at 3GHz speed. All three CPUs have a thermal dissipation of 125W.

3 Ghz FX vs Core 2 6700 at 2.66 GHz?

the answer on this will most likely be the answer on Kentsfield vs Quadfather

125W, ouchie

That is to say if you mean it'l be a wash for Intel, then I agree. Plenty of old 3ghz FX vs E6700 benches out there, 334mhz advantage isn't enough to give AMD the overall win, although they might pick up a benchmark or two. But you should only compare chips at the same price points... which probably means a QX6700 would be needed.
