Default ABIT Announces Partnership with ATI Technologies

ABIT today officially confirmed its desire to partner with ATI Technologies in the field of graphics cards. The company plans to add ATI’s high-end and performance-mainstream products into its roadmap in the nearest future and prepares numerous next-generation graphics products, including PCI Express x16 solutions.

Rumors about possible collaboration between the mainboard maker from Taiwan mostly renowned for its hardware tailored for overclockers as well as advanced enthusiasts and Markham, Ontario-based ATI Technologies have been circulating around for some time now. Last week certain conflicts between NVIDIA and ABIT received publicity and it became pretty evident that the latter will do everything to work with ATI Technologies in an attempt to stay in graphics cards business.

“By collaborating with ATI, ABIT users will be able to experience ABIT Engineered ATI graphics cards. Over the next few weeks, ABIT will add RADEON 9600 XT and RADEON 9800 XT cards to its VGA card lineup. ABIT is preparing for the next-generation of graphics technologies, including PCI-Express,” an ABIT’s spokesperson said.

“ATI welcomes new partners like ABIT onboard!” a spokesman for ATI Technologies told X-bit labs.

According to unofficial information available now, ABIT is likely to roll-out Powered by ATI products with the firm’s own Outside Thermal Exhaust System that ensures higher overclocking potential, but is considered as a bit noisy by reviewers.

Any other information, such as recommended pricing, or exact availability timeframe was not available at press time
