72kg Granite Case Mod

Maybe that's why new forum member pieterveenstra felt it had to be done - it is, to our knowledge, the only actual granite computer case in the whole wide world. There may be countless reasons for that - cost, difficulty to machine, weight...the list goes on and on. However, one thing that pieterveenstra has been able to make painstakingly clear - it's not cause it's not pretty!

Seems to me there is the temperature advantage too!
Since granite only heats up verry slowly I think the temps should stay down a lot longer. Maybe not that much of a differance but neat for benching with high V settings and stuff.

Only problem is that once it's hot it cools down slowly too :)

not really; building material for a case is not important for case temps; having a clear airflow path is the key to good cooling

Still got a feeling it helps some though. (Worked in the granite buisness quite long) and i can tell you that where the stock is it's allways cooler for a long time even when the outside temps go crazy. So this means its keeping the cold (stocked at night or in this situation when not operating) So the air pushed into the case should get some extra cooling from the granite.

Ok comming to think of it, gues it won't do that much since the air will pass tru to fast to really get advantige of that.
Allways looking for that extra °C less you know ;-)

Anyway... best part of this case: Die hard modders can use it when they die to get burried in... "modding till we die" :ws:
