72kg Granite Case Mod Maybe that's why new forum member pieterveenstra felt it had to be done - it is, to our knowledge, the only actual granite computer case in the whole wide world. There may be countless reasons for that - cost, difficulty to machine, weight...the list goes on and on. However, one thing that pieterveenstra has been able to make painstakingly clear - it's not cause it's not pretty! http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=152106 |
It weights 72 kg ! |
ah, only bottom part alone weighs 35kg! |
Seems to me there is the temperature advantage too! Since granite only heats up verry slowly I think the temps should stay down a lot longer. Maybe not that much of a differance but neat for benching with high V settings and stuff. Only problem is that once it's hot it cools down slowly too :) |
not really; building material for a case is not important for case temps; having a clear airflow path is the key to good cooling |

Ok comming to think of it, gues it won't do that much since the air will pass tru to fast to really get advantige of that. Allways looking for that extra °C less you know ;-) Anyway... best part of this case: Die hard modders can use it when they die to get burried in... "modding till we die" :ws: |
