So, given that CPU scores probably will make a bigger difference, will 2K6 replace 2K1 as reference point?

3DMark06 adds more GFX stressing benchmarks; so I'd say CPU is still as important as in 3DMark05...

which reflect real games quite correctly actually.

but 06 is more system relative than 05

Quote:

While 3DMark05 was all about the graphics hardware when generating the final score, 3DMark06 relies on the basic platform in addition. A pair of CPU tests that simulate physics and AI (using Ageia's PhysX SDK for physics and a freely available AI library) are used as part of the composite calculation that generates the end score.

So now your CPU plays a part, and 3DMark06 favours multi-core processors to boot. Its AI and physics tests are multi-threaded, meaning a dual-core CPU or processor with HyperThreading potentially has the ability to improve performance. Indeed, similar systems at HEXUS prove that, an FX-60 system besting FX-57 in 06, despite the core clock advantage of the FX-57's single core.

Nv6200 can do :D

CPU temp topped 57°C = can be used for stressed/temp test.

pfff, downloaded it, but the 3DMark06.dat file (whooping 1,2Gb btw) is corrupted :( , and since were at 75% of our download limit, I prolly won\'t download it anymore this month :(

Aah, well yeah, not that bad, slideshow prolly makes me depressive because my v-cards sucks :D

Does it work on Win 2k or is there a workaround?
