Got the backplates from Shore Machine Works today. Now it's time to notch the aluminum plates and the plastic ones to have them sit flush to the board due to wiring and or components. :D In this pic you can see part of the old kit on the right |
Guess I just voided the warranty. The first lair behind the plastic was a sheath of aluminum and then the heater. I need to cut through the heater anyway, but didn't during the delicate surgical procedure. Once I do, I will mend it! Need to trim the Koolance bracket to get the card to seat properly. Ok, all is ready for the fridge guy now. Once the mods are done I will take the ends to Canus Plastics and have them mold a red acrylic case around the unit, the same finish as the shims. After much calculating there was only one inch left to play with after shims and backplate etc... Not much space there, so I will be doing a side entry to the heads. The lines will come in from the back of the cards. Come and check this out, tell me what you think! http://pcchill.com/phpBB2/viewforum....e39d1d1 2f43a |
Getting ready to design the Prommie circuit. There will be much involved with this circuit, such as an emergency shutdown in case a device fails! I will also have a metering system that will read volts, amps and wattage from the power supply, video cards and Prommies. :) I will work on this during the week and update as I go. :) The meter will read AC and DC up to three devices at a time, great for PSU secondary volts. amps, power, video card too... I will need shunt resistors, current transformers and external circuit boards that go with the meter. The unit even comes with a windows based software! http://texmate.com/tiger/320/20.html |
I couldn't tell if I was looking at an airliner engine or a nuclear sub....oh wait! Thats a computer? Who would have though =P |

Another thing cropped up, I have to change my CPU backplate now or shim it with one of my red shims, just incase! :( http://www.extremeprometeia.com/foru...highlight=Blew |

Managed to get the Dremel stuff to buff. 8) I also indulged in the Multi Saw, man it can get costly using cutting pads, they don't sell them for cheap!. As promised a peak at my new workshop (future home of the SUB ZERO), needs a paint job etc... I need the ceiling height just incase I decide to add 6 more Prommies for a triple cascade X3. Sorry, just had to do it, like hitting a bottle of Champaign on a ship before it's launched for the first time. This is the first time I open the door to my shop. |

Hi! Been a while since I posted but I'm sure you'll understand why. We had a really tuff time getting phone service and ADSL as Bell is on strike so we axed them and went with Sprint/Rogers. Just got a 6 Mb business addition service in the shop today and I can now remote to the server on Magma (100 Mb). Between renovations, jobs and everything else I haven't had a chance to do much with SUB ZERO. We're still sanding and painting etc... but I felt I should hook-up and post. The modified Prommie heads! 8) More! |
After a long couple of days getting my office fixed-up and the workshop cleaned I decided to post a few extra pics. I did receive the stainless steel flex lines yesterday and I'll be getting the fridge guy's in soon to finish up. :) More! :) |
