Voltage of HD activity LED?

The hard drive activity LED on my new cheap case is located down at the bottom of the front of the case. It appears to have been glued to the case, using a drop of silicone sealant. It's somewhat recessed so that when I look from where I sit I can barely see the LED flashing.

So,,, I want to drill a hole near the top of the front of the case and have the LED stick out just a bit so that I can easily see it flashing.

I saw some LEDs (with and without wires/fastening fixtures) that would work at Radio Shack but, they had different voltages, 1.6, 3.6, etc.

Any one know what the voltage is for my Chaintech 9CJS hard drive activity LED?

Thanks,

Kerry

I just measured the HDD LEd connector on my mainboard (NF7), and it seems that it's giving ~4.6 Volt.

Diffucult to measure, because it's flashing al the time :)

I bought a 5 volt LED and it worked, howver, I found one that came with my old hard drive, it works, and it's very bright, so I'm a happy camper.

Thanks,

Kerry
