Speedfan configuration

Either I am overlooking an option.. or this does not work.

using [g]Speedfan[/g] I want to automatically speed up/slow down fan linked to CPU temp.

desired temp 50°C
alert temp 70°C

set to control the CPU fan. CPU fan has min.0 and max 100 set.

this is what I get when I put CPU under load:

so the FAN speed is set to 100% each time CPU is >50.

is there a way to make the fan increase gradually? Like 1-2% steps at a time; what if 60% CPU fan speed is enough to keep CPU at 50°C... can this program do this? or are the steps for the FAN 0, 50, 100%

CPU temp:

Never use it; but, I think.

1) check auto fan speed
2) set 50% (if half is what you want) or any %

The fan speed wil increase from this point on when temp gets higher.

Big Assumption on my part.

1) is CHECKED (of course, otherwise I won't work;))
2) if I set 50%.. the fan will spin even when CPU is idle at 30°C.. at which point fan should be at 0%

I hoped speedfan would auto increase from MIN to MAX in steps from 1% until the temperature of CPU is at desired value.

now it's just FAN ON, FAN OFF , FAN ON , FAN OFF.

Not quite PulseWidthModulation.

No, I don't know what I was talking about. Doen't work.

configure>options
Delta value for fan speeds. Settings this at a lower rate will make speedfan take smaller steps to increase fanspeed.
Is 50% realy 50%, or is it more like 95%, because here 15% is almost 90% fan speed.

depends on the board actually; on DFI 50 = 50

on older P4 board 50 = less then 50;)
