Soltek???

Has anyone heard anything on this motherboard? http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...180-061&depa=1 I read somewhere it was very fast but not goof for ocing. It looks rather small. I like the price. But nor myself or anyone I know has heard the name before...

looks like cost effective A64 board with fully featured nForce3 250GB chipset.

interesting for running at stock speeds, at least

I found where I read about it. heres the link...http://anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2206

well my assumption was quite correct:) good at stock, not for extreme overclocking

this is off this topic but what is the amd coolnquiet thing? By default, would my cpu fan turn on and off when it gets to a certain temp?

NM my last question...I just found a new mobo that newegg put up! Does this look any good? http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...127-190&depa=0 Its in my price range and it looks like newegg just got it in so I cant find much about it....

meh, if it was me i would earn 10 more dollars and get the lanparty board :-\

eskellie8 16th December 2004 04:48

Only problem is newegg keeps jumping the price up on it. (DFI) Was like 110 last I saw...Im goona look into the abit nf8 a bit more...

eskellie8 20th December 2004 04:49

I think its down to either the abit k8v pro or nf8. I guess its via vs nvidia. Only thing is, Im not sure what software comes with the nf8. Pretty much any mobo will have temperature overview programs right? What you guys think? Unless, newegg dropped the price on their athlon 64 3200 90nm, then id go 939.

i have a soltek nforce2. I think that board is very good for overclocking. First mobo can reach FSB 250 ( of course, before Lanparty coming up ) .... :D
