Key words.

My idea of having fun with a new videocard isn't cheating tax / waiting for DHL to loose my package / hoping customs will let it through eventually.

Be a nice EU citizen and by the Sapphire X800 Pro at kmelectronic.de for 30 euro's more. ; )

so...
getting to topic : the x800 pro's will be here.
the 6800 ultra's won't, the x800xt probably won't

socket 939 will be introduced but unavailable and uninteresting
socket 775 will maybe be available however if it'll be interesting is unknown.

does anyone here have 1 gig of ram that's capable of running high speeds?
my 4*256 mb of bh5 cannot be gotten stable at cas 2 2-2-5, separately they go all the way to 225 cas 2 2-2-5 at 2.9 volts, but combined even at 180 mhz they flunk and crash. :/

does this mean that for higher amounts of ram we really will have to settle for cas 2.5 3-3-7?

I've had a 4*512MB DDR400 875PE Dell at work, but I have problems running 2*512MB on two Abit IS7's, on a Chaintech NF2 and on a Asus A7N8-X.

The more RAM (modules), the more stress there is on the memory controller.

It's going to be pretty hard.
