Serverpark

Hi all,

For my final year in construction i need to make a final project with an industrial building. I decided to design a serverpark.

Can anyone give me tips about the construction and what things i need to pay attention on.

Also pics of buildings like that are welcome, site's, contractors who are specialized in those buildings, etc..

I was also thinking of using the heat, produced by the servers, for heating the building. Is this possible?

thanks in advance

May be the graduate program students from you college can privide you more information. It would depend on where the "park" is located as far as climate condition is concern. You would have to consider the "heat" output from a server versus the energy spent to collect the power, store it and release it on demand.

First of all, you'll score if you make a green serverpark, cutting CO2 output, lowering the electricity bills and being more efficient are very important factors these days.

Earthquakes and other natural desasters should be a concern too for the location, along with the availability of power and the average temperatures.

The design of the ventilation system in combination with the isolation is key to lowering the power requirements, preferably find something usefull to do with the excess heat.

Very advanced would be using a gas power plant where the heat is used for an absorbtion cooling system (creates cooling with heat).
