Still running a P4 2.4 (slightly overclocked already 2.6 now)
and about 10 hard drives on a single 400W Zalman PSU.

Although you are using a bit more juice with the vidcard. I think the PSU should be up to it.
It's not like it's going to blow up or anything, if it's too much it will shut down seconds after powerup (spinning the harddrives up is still the most power intensive task)

Bought the Sharkoon 480w PSU last tuesday, it is very silent. It is not able to hear in my com. Havent had any probs with it so far.
Gave 419kr (Danish Kroner) ~ 95€ for it, in my local pc shop.

All in all, im very pleased with it, but it has long and many cables.

Well I think the addition of 2 300GB drives has finally pushed the 400W zalman over the edge.

So I'm looking for a new PSU, but I'd like some advice.
Overclocking isn't important, but it should be stable and reliable. It's running 11 disks and one CD drive. That on an intel P4c 2.4MHz and a GF4MX.I don't really want too long cables, but I could use enough connections.

I was looking at OCZ PSU's. Read a lot of good reviews about them. but that's about all I know about PSU's these days.
Are there any other options ?

according to that test i need an 390W PSU but only have an 350W A-open and volt lines are ok so it'll do for now

/ontopic => Tagan TG480-U01 480W Black Dual Fan Active PFC

my brother has one like that and it runs very good, i stressed it once and voltlines didn't move

it's an OCZ clone but u can't precise output voltages

For me OCZ is clone of Tagan, like Topower, also good choice. I'm using Topower 400W P5 version with Acrylic Window cooled with two 80mm fans. Very stable and very silent. I hear it only when I put my ear next to the fan. I think Topower (and BeQuiet) are most silent non-passive PSU's.

I don't know (yet ) where you can buy the Zippy's but PCP&C's you can buy from overclockers.co.uk or over-clock.co.uk (can't keep those two apart) and from extremeprometeia but they are indeed very expensive and afaik, they only offer the standard models, no extra options like different pots, different fans etc. etc.
