eskellie8 | 20th October 2005 03:51 | Pc wont turn on...... first of all i was on this forum about 8 months ago asking questions about new pc. Anyway I got my new pc and everything and you guys helped alot so thanks. Now i have another question for you.
My mothers pc just died. It was an emachines with an athlon xp 1600. At first it would start up and give me a page about the mobo specs and to press this and that do certain things. If i pressed what it told me to nothing happened. Now when you push the power button it doesnt even turn on. Ive tried a different power supply and my hd seems ok. I think maybe the mobo is shot. My mother doesnt realy want to fork out 250 for even a low end pc right now. But If the mobo is the problem would it be a good idea to just buy a 35 dollar mobo and interchange her processor? If i had to build her a new pc Id like to make use of her nearly new 1 gig of pc2100, and thats the trouble im having, i cant find any new athlon xp 1800s or antoher better than the 1600. Thanks guys. |
