Default Noise means something

Many sectors report a slow 2005. Who knows if the high oil price is affecting the world economy or it is called the cycle? There is no shortage of “news” in the PC Hardware front. Dual Core from both AMD and Intel; Microsoft 64-bit Windows XP; 65nm Cores; 512 MB graphic cards; DDR3 memory; and the relentless daily new products from heatsink fan, water cooling blocks, water pumps, etc.

When you are not feeling “right” after a day’s work, there are PC-games waiting for your return from a hard day’s work. Something we all can look forward to in forgetting the day passed. Imagine working for a Company manufacturing high power notebook, only to find out after a year’s hard work that the gross margin (before selling and general administrative cost) is merely ~5%.

As we sit and watch, I can hear the ‘noise’ in this very industry despite how much we wanted to quiet our PC’s. This time the noise is not coming from the PC; the loud noise comes from the industry crying for mercy. I wish we will enjoy the companies we have today for years to come, rather than a single brand Notebook and PC with Dell’s logo or the only CPU we can buy comes from Intel.
