wrong forum? /moved to General Hardware:) |
Woops!:grr: |
Not much change with the IC7 new BIOS. BUT, the IS7 lowers both PWM and CPU temp reporting. The CPU temp is lower by 4-5 C down to an unbelievable numbers or too good to be true. IS7 P4 2.6C @1.7 Volt 3.32Ghz - 30C idle; 47C load using stock copper heatsink at 106 Watts. Should I be happy? NO.:^D |
hmmm.. so, did the temp reading before was incorrect? or does the new bios falsely report temps? watch out now when doing HSF reviews when comparing with previous results ;) |
The new BIOS is incorrect with IS7 because extermal probe temp now has wider margin. This particular board had identical temp with one of the IC7; now they are different. Sure thing to be aware of the difference when doing reviews. |
I'll flash it this weekend. I'll see if the temperature is diffrent then now. |
Ok I flashed it this morning and I got some nasty problems. I couldn't get my proc back on 3,4 like i ussed to. So I put it on 3,2 but when I came home this noon my pc seemed to have rebooted. It was only folding when I left. Also in windows he said that serious errors have happend. :s I think I'm gonna put my old one back on. |
Sorry to hear that. Did not affect mine.:( My 2.6C could never make it to 3.4. 255FSB is the max regardless of voltage. |
