MSI Smart Key: can it be used without MSI mobo?

I found an MSI Smart Key USB device, can it be used on a none MSI mobo?

tried on my Abit TH7-II setup , windows detects the key, but fun stops there.. no install, don't see anything.

I don't think you can use it , as it has to be enabled in your BIOS....
