Where's it gonna end ?
I still have some 4 and 6GB disks in perfect condition and more than enough for your regular office/browsing PC.

piotke 27th June 2003 10:24

from the moment on you start keeping your divx movies on your hard disk, you will see that size matters...

just bought me 2*80 gig 8Mb cache, will be full soon

$$$$$....

I know, what i meant was that only 2 years ago i bought a 30 GB disk. At that time that was a VERY big disk.

In two years multiplication factor = 10 x :o

TeuS 27th June 2003 10:33

you watch a divx only once, I don't waste my HDD space with it
on a LAN I only leech the movies I really want to see, then write them on a CD

Da_BoKa 27th June 2003 11:57

when i had my 486 i had an very large disk 250MB in that time was that very big

greetz

ModdiN MansoN 27th June 2003 12:25

I used to have a 500MB-disk in my old PI200, when I bought a new game, I usually had to uninstall all my other games to install te new one :)

Fraeco 28th June 2003 13:21

CCW 2nd August 2003 07:15

Who needs all that space honestly? Cant see why theyre not working on getting the faster S-ATA stuff out.

Craig

FreeStyler 2nd August 2003 20:19

I'm going to try to get my 640GB @ madlan.
That's why you need space.

But fast spacious SATA would be even better.
10k RPM 300GB .....

CCW 2nd August 2003 22:07

I prefer SCSI, doesnt use the processor as much.

Craig

FreeStyler 3rd August 2003 12:40

Hmm, if the PC is doing nothing else, why bother?
twice the volume for half the price.

CCW 3rd August 2003 17:23

hehe, half, scsi costs a lot more than double the price of IDE

FreeStyler 3rd August 2003 20:17

That's why I said TWICE the volume at HALF the price.
kinda adds out to a quarter of the price.
And anyway, I wasn't being specific.

MMC media is capable of up to a 175 GB/platter density using advanced developmental PMR heads.

Normal = 4 platters per disk

Hitachi = 5 platters per disk

Why bother to crop your DVD's, just copy/paste them ... plenty of room :D

jmke 23rd October 2003 16:55

WTF almost 1 TB on a HD :o

FreeStyler 24th October 2003 10:06

I wish...

jmke 24th October 2003 10:09

will become true eventually.
