ok I just lost my post due to a browser crash so pardon me but I'll keep this short.

prices from newegg

3000+ 130nm s754 149$ <6$> 3000+ 90nm s939 155$
dfi ut lp 250 99$ <6$> gigabyte blablabla 105$

different chipset cooler only if your chipset gets too hot to your liking. vantec will cool better but produce more noise, zalman will cool less then the vantec but will produce no noise.

2*512 corsair value select 147'ish$ < > 2*512 gskill 250$

the corsair will run at the rated timings, the gskill should run at 2-2-2-5. this will give you a slight performance boost but isn't worth the extra money if your not going to overclock.

s939 with a 90nm will in my humble opinion give a performance boost that is more then worth those extra 12$. you won't be able to buy a nice speakerset for that anyway. if you want to know howmuch of performance boost s939 + 90nm proc will give you, go through the graphs in the link I posted earlier

Default Cold cathode

Supoosedly the mobo im getting will glow under a uv light. Such as a cold cathode. I found a few at newegg. Some have uv and some dont. This means I need one with uv in the name right? And in that case I can only get a blue one right? I found a logysis one for $4.50. And I will be getting a large case with a large window. Should I get 1 or two? thanks

Uv doesn't produce as much light as other ccfls , so if it's a big tower , i'll advice you to take 2 uv ccfl's .

Thats the board! I was just wondering if I needed the uv cold cathodes for it work....

Oh, BTW, does anyone know when dfi will be releasing a socket 939 mobo? And about how much it may cost? Thanks

nop, they haven't even anounced it on their site yet, although they displayed their SLI model already somewhere in asia...

yes you need an uv ccfl, not just any ccfl

I was thinking maybe I could put in a 1 gb stick of ram and put another 1 gb stick in later. While Im not sure If I will do it or not which of these ram looks best.

Oh, and on 512 sticks how are these. Are they DESCENT at overclocking? And or better than corsair value ram?

I know, the supreme top is probably junk, I just put it in because they sell the same ram w/o heatspreader for 61 bucks a piece! With this ram i could afford a better processor...but its not realy worth it if Im skimping on ram is it?

In case you guys know of some brands I dont see, I have 170 (give or take a few bucks) dollars to spend on ram. Just wondering if any of these are worth a look at (or any other ram that you know of). Alot of reviews on the geil. Thanks

I'd go for the PQI 1gig stick instead of that other one

and with the 512 sticks; I don't know but I think all but the supreme top will be able to give you a mild overclock.

Just found this review...If its right then the only way a socket 939 motherboard would be better for me is if I got a 3200. I might be able to squeeze this but i might not be able to get the mobo that I want. Im goona do some figuring and see If I could do this.

I have another question. If I got a socket 939 system would a thermaltake volcano 12 fit it?

BTW, I think Ive decided on some pqi turbo memory. Its between that and the geil.

Heres the link to the review....http://www.amdzone.com/modules.php?o...rtid=63&page=2
