levicom 550W PSU?

Check this baby out. Fancy looks, 550W, and very reasonably priced at 85 euro. It even has a dedicated S-ATA dongle!

Has anyone seen a review of this puppy? Can't find any with google.

jmke 23rd October 2003 22:16

globalwin also has a 550W PSU out, also with SATA power connectors, pretty flashy:

I just need reviews, because I've been looking at that levicom also...

jmke 24th October 2003 14:27

what do you look for in such a "review" ?

FreeStyler 24th October 2003 14:36

the fact that I barely trust a 400+W PSU under 100€ let alone one of 500+W

And the EMI of one of those has got to be horrible.

jmke 24th October 2003 15:01

afaik the EMI would be determined by a global organisation, and no company can release a product without a valid certification of compliance...

The Senile Doctor 24th October 2003 15:21

rails that withstand exreme strain is what I look for,
for as far as this can be tested

My QTek 550W costed €55. It has a very stable 5 & 12V line and except of the lack of a power switch on the back i can't find anyting wrong with it.

what would be a "acceptable" way to do this?

the P4 stresses the 12v

My Q-Tek 550W's 12V line sucks atm, when vcore is about 1,9V, my 12 V line drops to about 11,51:grum:

12V: 11.95V idle and 11.75V stressed. Not great, but not bad either.
5V: 4.97V stable.

biCker 24th October 2003 19:01

my 550W antec's 12v line always stays around 11.80V; idle, stressed, high or low v-core, no difference

[-Ampora-] 25th October 2003 01:22

mine 300w zalman iz always 12.20 - 11.92 i think...hmm what,?

The Senile Doctor 25th October 2003 06:36

i cannot even boot with a 300 watt due to all the maount of power leeched by my hardware (especially the pelt)

Gamer 25th October 2003 06:54

I have dual PSU
works fine, maybe an idea ?

The Senile Doctor 25th October 2003 13:57

but everything works aok with my 520 watt superflower, and there ain't no place in my case for anything
I'm just looking for a flashy psu to put into a future fun-case

FreeStyler 25th October 2003 15:52

Enermax 600+W should suit your needs.

jmke 25th October 2003 15:58

Enermax is known to sport low 5v rails

TerAngreal 25th October 2003 16:50

my enermax 350W gives me an average of 4.94V on the 5V rail ... not too shabby, considering what it's feeding

The Senile Doctor 25th October 2003 17:03

dunno, but I'll stick with my sf-520, considering I see that every single unit can differ a bit, as with all hardware...the rails aren't that bad...
but I'd like a shiny one to put into my future windowcase

jmke 25th October 2003 17:09

my enermax 350w had 4.73v when used with an XP1700+@1800 - 1.8v vcore... and that was at 0% CPU usage.. when 100% came.. it dropped to 4.68V :/

old aopen 300w had 5.15v in the same condition :)

FreeStyler 25th October 2003 21:33

Hmm, all I know is that zalman PSU's have a very strong 12V line, their 5V-3.3V line was a bit weaker, but still very good.

And shouldn't CPU voltage be derived from the 12V line?

jmke 25th October 2003 22:37

p4 -> 12v
amd -> 5v
