after alot of work I finally pulled it off, I installed my R8500DV AIW that I bought pretty cheap (400€) from one of our sponsors (loveno) and hooked it up with 70€ worth of cables to my parents TV & Hifi set.

Modded Imperial Midi Case (check Blackrabbit's review, I added an extra 80mm cooler @the back, this reduced the system temp with 10°C!)

XP1700+ (Alpha Pal8045 + silent 80mm)
Abit KX7-133
ATA66 12gb System drive
ATA100 30gb Data drive
3com 10/100
SB Live!
R8500DV AIW (Sound Out -> Hifi, SVHS Out -> TV, Coax In)
Plextor 12x10x32x (to be joined by a DVD player soon)

Hooked up peripherals:
- Creative Webcam5
- HP DJ940cxi
- Palm Vx
- Nokia 6210

Running Windows 2000
the remote control included by ATI really kicks ***

tommorow I'm gonna connect the Remote Logitech Keyboard & Mouse (the black ones )

Gaming from the Sofa is almost reality!

Looks like you had excellent playing time.
Wait till you start playing with the VCR function or playing music at FULL blast while working or watching TV while working or gaming on a big screen with super sound, ...
How big is the TV-set ?

btw : still can't see attachments via telenet account

I bought me a videocam now the complete fun will begin
already enjoying full surround sound (Hifi + bass box of PC in the back kicks *** )

TV .. 71cm ?

Telenet blocks them? don't know, I see them without probs whereever I go (adsl/telenet/leased line) maybe your internet sharing util is f*cking up?

VCR function = of no real use to me

I do however encoded some 30 musicclips to high resolution (1400kb/s) .wmv files from different MTV & TMF broadcasts, quality is tops

experimenting with Adobe Premiere 6 and Ulead MovieMaker (?) , for now I prefer the first one, second is reaaaalllyyy slow

Hmm, firewall blocks them (disabling privacy policy enables the attachments)
Curious how the PC-screen will look on TV. Most people find it too blurry ... but that was with lower end cards.
Which camera did you buy ?

TV resolution @ 1024x768 looks pretty good
in windows the text is really small
but for gaming it just kicks major ***

Sony VideoCam 8 TR340 or something
testing it out right now.. post results later, 1st impression: old sturdy machine
but I might go for something more HighTech

aha!
reinstalled the system
Asus P4PE with P4 2.26@2.8ghz

on Win2000 without reinstall, everything related to 3D gaming was extremely slow :/

3Dmark = ~1500

now reinstalled with XP and latest ATI drivers = 8477!
