Default Got myself Vista

Instead of getting a copy of the OS; I found a good deal at BB on Gateway notebook comes with Vista Home Premium; Intel Duo 1.6; 100GB HD, 1GB ram, DVD RW DL etc for $600 and free printer scanner.

Other than a pretty face; Vista sucks ..... slow start-up, shut down; the only software I could install without problems are Office XP Pro, Skype , DVDFab Platinum; HP 4215 and Okidata C5150n drivers; AVG 7.5V.

Unless you are getting an entire new system; stay away for now.

Does anyone know how to make the desktop Icon smaller?

Corrected the icon size; right click on desktop - choose classic.
System start takes more than twice the time; shutting down is even longer. How did I measure them you ask? You know when you are pissing twice longer than normal

>3 minutes - restart time
2GB memory would be just about right for me; not being a daily gamer. With what I do, about 380 mb memory left for game and 1GB total physical memory installed.

PartitionMagic 8.0 does not work in Vista; Google around and found 8.2 does not support Vista neither.
DVD7 is a NO go; but, Window Media takes care of not having it.
Norton Antivirus 9.xx won't work 10.x does, I am sticking with AVG for now.

PowerQuest image does not work; I have another software that does. Image the OS drive and keep the Recovery partition under locked key ..... this thing (Vista) could be dangerous.

Now I have tasted the latest wrath of Bill G., talk about Weapon of Mass Destruction
