e2160 overclock problems got my new toys this week ; - cpu : core2duo e2160 ( default 9*200 ; 1800mhz) - ram : transcend 1024 *2 ; pc5300 rest of my setup ; - mobo ; asrock 775 dual-vsta - psu : LCpower 550W - vidcart : 6600GT - few hdds/dvdrw -------------------------- i tried to overclock my system ; got a pretty bad result 9*275 ; 2475 mhz ; ram 1:1 started 2 times toast.exe , after 2 hours the pc rebooted ( cpu 39°C at that time , vcore +- 1.32) 9*270 looks ok , but this is low tbh bios version is the latest , 2.7 everybody gets +3ghz with this cpu , what am i doing wrong ? i got a bad mobo ? |
Well, it's not THE best mobo to overclock ;). |
Check out Xtremesystems.org forums and search for your motherboard asrock 775 *vsta , it needs some tweaks and settings to get running , but once it goes well, over 300+ FSB is possible. I only have experience with S775 P4 on the VSTA http://www.madshrimps.be/vbulletin/s...hlight=%2Avsta |
Don't you have to set memory to 266 rather than 333 even though you are using PC5300? |
no i did set the memory to 266 since tweaking a bit in the bios , its going better already , but it seems my vcore is really unstable |
