e2160 overclock problems

got my new toys this week ;

- cpu : core2duo e2160 ( default 9*200 ; 1800mhz)
- ram : transcend 1024 *2 ; pc5300

rest of my setup ;

- mobo ; asrock 775 dual-vsta
- psu : LCpower 550W
- vidcart : 6600GT
- few hdds/dvdrw

--------------------------

i tried to overclock my system ;
got a pretty bad result

9*275 ; 2475 mhz ; ram 1:1

started 2 times toast.exe , after 2 hours the pc rebooted
( cpu 39°C at that time , vcore +- 1.32)

9*270 looks ok , but this is low tbh

bios version is the latest , 2.7

everybody gets +3ghz with this cpu , what am i doing wrong ?
i got a bad mobo ?

Well, it's not THE best mobo to overclock ;).

Check out Xtremesystems.org forums and search for your motherboard asrock 775 *vsta , it needs some tweaks and settings to get running , but once it goes well, over 300+ FSB is possible.

I only have experience with S775 P4 on the VSTA

Don't you have to set memory to 266 rather than 333 even though you are using PC5300?

no i did set the memory to 266

since tweaking a bit in the bios ,
its going better already , but it seems my vcore is really unstable
