it's sad to see so much broken disks, it really doesn't matter who makes them. (ibm 60GXP series and maxtor 200gb excluded)

seems as I was a bit early be saying the other is showing the same thing, as it's still running fine in the system; must have panicked back then

I had the same problem as you, a year back. This used to work but today it doesn't.
Have to RMA it, but sending it to Germany is rather expensive. :grum:

sending to germany is totaly not expensive.

1kg prior => ~ 10 euro
1kg non prior => ~ 7-8euro

With De Post it's allright, but I was talking about DHL, Fedex and all the others Maxtor recommends.
So I should just take De Post? I don't have any experience with RMA'ing.

Yes. And I checked the warranty status. It's still the same as the old one (2006-11-01)
