Meaning no more premium pricing for the old BH-5; get rid of them now while you still can.:) |

Can BH-5 reach tccd speeds? Then maybe I gonna switch to 2x512MB BH-5 and still use them if I ever (most likely) buy a A64 setup. |
not at this time no... but hopefully the production process will have been optimized for the new chips although it'll still be 175nm procuction process. |
Correct me if i'm wrong but don't you need quite the voltage to get BH-5 to reach TCCD speeds? And what about the new winbond chip sightings at twinmos modules? Or is that the BH-5 discussed here? |
no the chips that were hot topics were Winbond UTT wich are actually optimized CH-5 produced with a smaller production process. (some people now refer to them as CH-4) these Winbond CH-5's are for speedpremium ddr400 but you can also find them on the non-speedpremium versions. the new BH-5's will go on the speedpremium ddr450 yes, these chips need voltage to perform (meaning, a dfi mobo or a mobo voltmod, if need be a psu voltmod, or a ddr booster if it 'll fit. with the booster, no Vmodding is needed. with the dfi nf4's, no Vmodding is needed) but with proper voltage and good tweaking, bh-5/utt at ~260mhz 2-2-2-5 beats tccd at 300mhz 2.5-3-3-7 for dutch, dial hardewaren.be ;p |
