![]() | ![]() - bios update - pick higher aperture size than 64 - have you examined the card ? ... burnmarks somewhere ? - i doubt if this is applicable but : Most of the AGP cards' gold finger includes a notch to identify AGP 3.3V or AGP 1.5V as illustrated in the picture below. An AGP card without that notch means that AGP 1.5V is not compatible and cannot be inserted into AGP slot fully. Very few graphic cards, such as the Leadtek WinFast VR300, are a 3.3V only AGP card but includes a "1.5V notch" golden finger. An abnormal golden finger such as this will permit AGP card plug into 845/850 mainboard fully, burning the chipset and damaging the mainboard. Some graphic cards have jumpers to switch between AGP 1.5V or 3.3V. Please DO make sure it's jumpered at 1.5V before use on Intel 845/850-based mainboards - another bios remark : Why does my system hang at the Windows screen after flashing the BIOS from newer version to an older one? Because the latest BIOS 38 for TH7-II board has added some revised I/O Mapping from previous versions. Therefore, if you flash the BIOS from the newer version (38) to older one (37), it will corrupt your operating system. We suggest you do not downgrade to an older BIOS unless you have backups. As you might know I'm NO fan of Windows XP, ... I've heared a lot of complaints regarding system restore and safe mode in combination with driver updates. There's even a long thread at Icrontic how to update HP raid drivers on an XP-system ... as said : it's a long thread. Because you said you changed/updated drivers inbetween system freezes, i wouldn't be surprised if this option ruined your card by making it run at ludicrous speed or other "destruction mode" |

![]() | ![]() system restore has always been disabled. my mobo can't be dead, works perfectly with my other gpu's. the card is dead, it doesn't post on an msi ddr mobo I've just tried, and it doesn't post on a dell pc I've just tried. The card ran for 30 minutes in which it crashed my pc 50 times. Then it died.
