ISP in Belgium

Hi,
I have an Adsl modem.
I am looking for an ISP for my needs.I think most of ISPs have download limits like 10GB or 20GB per month. If you overpass these, you have to pay extra.

Is there any ISP which doesn't have any download limits?

Thank you in advance

Boemenenoekinzoe 25th July 2003 22:03

Planet Internet (Scarlet now) also has download limits, but furtunatly they don't check them ... yet.

I usually have around 20GB (the limit is 10GB) per month and I haven't had any e-mails from them concerning the limit.

UserName 26th July 2003 06:30

Do they decrease the download speed when you overpass the limit?Because I heard that S*ynet does like that. They decrease the speed to 56k then they sell 5GB for 5euro.

piotke 26th July 2003 08:15

tiscali ADSL, they say they have limits, but if you get over your amuont, I think you get a mail, that's all

I'll ask it, monday

UserName 26th July 2003 09:44

Hi piotke,
You said that you get a mail. That mail is a kind of warning or they decrease your download limit? What does that mail include?

uni1313 26th July 2003 11:01

Skynet says the following when exeeding the limit of the monthly volume (10 gig), You will receive a mail 3 gigs before you exceed the 10 Gig limit. They give you the option to buy a volumepack or to continue to when you reach the 10 Gig limit, if you exceed the 10 Gig limit you wil be surfing at 64 Kbps till the end of the month. You can always check your downloadsvolume at their website.

I checked the sites of ISPs in Belgium.

Cybernet Cyber DSL Plus 15GB
Wanadoo Adsl up 15GB
XS4All 15GB
Teledis Power 20GB
Openweb 1GB
Netnet Adsl Mega 15GB
Edpnet Meson+ 15GB
Planet Adsl one 10GB
Planet Adsl Mega 15GB

But there is one I also found. It is Easynet.
Easynet ADSL Office unlimited
Easynet ADSL I-Line unlimited
Easynet ADSL Premium unlimited+guaranteed speed

www.easynet.be

Monthly prices can be learned by phone and email.I can not speak dutch yet so I sent an email.I'm waiting for a reply.I'll let you know here the prices if some are also interested.

Also all Cable ISPs have unlimited download capacities like Telenet,UPC Chello and Brutele.

But I already have one Adsl modem so I am looking for an Adsl ISP.

Regards

Opps I forgot it.

Tiscali should be good but not good for my needs.
I just checked its official site and saw this "10GB dataverkeer per maand" :-(
http://adsl.tiscali.be/

Boemenenoekinzoe 26th July 2003 12:42

Scarlet (PI) does not slow down your connection in any way when you overpass the limit.

That is not true Telenet has a limit depending on your subscription. I don't think there are any major ISP who have a unlimited download for customers for normal prices. If there was one, everyone would have a subscription with them

Productnaam Totaal volume
Telenet Internet Mono, Duo, Quatro 10 GB
Telenet Internet voor scholen 10 GB
Telenet Internet Pro 20 GB
Telenet Internet Pro+ 100 GB

Furthermore the selection from Easynet is not for normal customers, I line is for: I-line is a joint initiative of Belgacom, the federal government and Belgium’s three linguistic communities.
This unique project provides schools* and hospitals* with a high-speed, "always on" Internet connection at a very interesting price. The other I think two are also not for normal customers.

If you decide to chose a ISP chose one of the well known ones. Here in Belgium Telenet and Belgacom Skynet are the two big ones.

piotke 26th July 2003 16:37

but tiscali is the best, according to testaankoop

tom 26th July 2003 18:28

and because you work @ tiscali? :p

piotke 26th July 2003 19:03

but what I'm saying about testaankoop is true

Xploited Titan 28th July 2003 17:31

Uhm, I always taught that Telenet provided internet with cable technology and not ADSL.........

Senti 31st July 2003 17:41

Scarlet ( PlanetInternet ) does not charge you for the extra bytes, neither do they downgrade your downstream ..

Call 0800 84 000
or go to http://www.scarlet.be

Boemenenoekinzoe 31st July 2003 23:24
