I wanted an AMD X2 3800+ but for the same price I can get an AMD Opteron 165 :super:

so why buy the Opteron:
- Same price
- Also boxed so 3yrs warranty
- Dual Core (duh)
- 2MB L2 cache
- unlocked (up && down)

Am I missing something?

This CPU must go into a Shuttle SN25P and it's not PCI(-E) locked so I'm afread it won't do much FSB.

Maybe Shuttle has done a BIOS-update or new rev. but if it's locked, I'm a very happy man :D

Also I forgot that the newest AMD CPU's don't need the 1:1 performance boost right?

Maybe I can run 250-300HTT with 3:2 or 5:4 deviders.
