120w+ TEC (peltier) I'm looking for a bigger pelt to mod my portable refrigerator, anyone got a nice pelt which isn't used anymore? Also, I need a better power supply to feed the thing, so i'm also looking for a VERY compact 220V AC->12V DC convertor which can deliver +7A on the 12V side. (I already found small convertors which can handle 1.5A per piece, but will they work if I couple five of those in parallel?) |

when they differ even the slightest bit in voltage, you have two powersources working against eachother, which would be a huge waste of energy at +10A. Not to mention the heat that waste of energy brings along. |

peltiers already produce a lot of heat and any transformer (especially such small one) has a considerable loss when transforming power |

power conversion is over 80% so pretty good. If I go for the 226w pelt, those little things won't last a second, or I need a dozen of them. :) So i'll have to look for some kind of external transfo, like one from a laptop. Or build one out of a PSU. |
does a TEC need a stable input voltage? I've seen it once, you could just use one big-*** transformator with an average voltage the TEC needs |

Last night, I was thinking about making an external power source out of a PSU. Its relatively small, can deliver the power without a problem and with a bit of modding, it looks like a big laptop PSU. :) |
I'm looking for a pelt too, someone got one for me? :d |
