whats the source of the problem?

okay, so, i got myself a beautiful black friday deal on an Acer 22" widescreen monitor...which is absolutely pristine. the problem is that when i turn it off while my computer is still on, it wont pick up a signal when i turn it back on. i have to restart my computer to get it to respond.
my video card is a Sapphire Radeon 9600PRO, and im using the DVI connection on the monitor. this isnt really a problem, just more of a nuisance...so, any ideas on what the problem might be?

First try unplugging/replugging the video signal cable and make sure the conntction is tight (but don't tighten the screws to tightly as it will be difficult to undo). Do the same on both ends if it can disconnect at both. If you don't get any satisfaction with that, check the FAQ on Acer's web site - nothing there, call tech support.
