MBR broken? okay I've messed around with linux a bit, and now when I boot I get 4 and 0's everywhere on my screen. formatted the C partition but it didn't work; formatting the entire partition is not an option because I've still got files on a partition installed windows, but when I reboot during install the problem keeps coming back. I think the MBR is broken. how can I 'clear' it then? partition table may NOT be erased! |

fdisk /mbr |
Anes, it may not be that easy as doing fdisk/mbr when he's been fiddling with a multi-os install I'm afraid. My suggestion is to plug the harddisc in another system, copying/backuping the required files with a suitable OS on that system & re-installing whatever is nescessary. |
