Liteon LTR-32125W & Nero 5.0

Groot probleem !

zelfde probleem start / stop / start / stop (afwerking ofzo)...

Malice 22nd January 2004 17:18

another thing
if i go @ a low speed the preperation takes less then if i go fast speed...
so like 36x = 15~ min preperation
24x = 8 min~ preperation

another thing
while the preperation is going everything kinda freezes if u try to open it...

DMA problem I'm guessing

Malice 22nd January 2004 17:35

if I run it at 4x speed it starts burning immediatly
but it's max is 32x ... :/

FreeStyler 22nd January 2004 20:17

bad media or drive problem.

At the start of writing the drive(nero) "tries" the CD to see if it works at rated speed. If it encounters any problems it will slow down ONE notch. Going from 32 down to 4 is quite a few notches.

Malice 23rd January 2004 15:35

it doesn't go down one notch..
i set it to write at that speed

The Senile Doctor 23rd January 2004 15:47

I have the same thing with a plextor 48/12/48, and it's only at 4 or 8x that it works perfectly, whatever cd I use...

jmke 23rd January 2004 15:51

DMA settings :)

Malice 23rd January 2004 15:56

what dma settings, i'm sorry but i really don't know what you are talking about ..
can u help me pls?

writer = master
dvd = slave

jmke 23rd January 2004 16:38

I assume you are using Windows 2000/XP?

go to device manager (my computer -> properties -> hardware)
open the branch "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"

double click "secondary IDE channel" assuming that your drives are connected to the secondary IDE connector on the motherboard

click on "advanced settings" in the new properties tab that has appeared.

What is written next to "current transfer mode" of Device 0 ?

Malice 23rd January 2004 16:45

primair IDE: DMA if available @ 0 & 1 Ultra - mode 6
secundairy IDE: DMA if available @ 0 & 1 Ultra - mode 2

Malice 23rd January 2004 16:51

in bios it says:

Secundairy master: (my Writer's name)
Pio: 4
DMA: 2

Secundairy slave: (my DVD's name)
Pio: 4
DMA: 2

jmke 23rd January 2004 16:56

hmm Ultra mode 2 is good

set it to "automatic" in the BIOS if possible!

Malice 23rd January 2004 17:06

it is :/
it's just when i select auto, it shows that.

This problem is really annoying !
Do you think it could be because i have 2 hds ?

I bought an extra recently...

Malice 23rd January 2004 17:21

problem was:

bad cds!
