How to uninstall windows media player 9 fully???

How can I uninstall windows media player 9?? (FULLY!!!!>> also clean registery)
It seems like this program is cooked in windows XP pro, it is not removable??!!! But I have read something that it is possible to remove it (like windows messenger..) but I don't find it anymore... Do you people have nice alternatives for the wmp 9 that use less resources??

Thnx

Why remove it? Just install another player (bsplayer) and voila..

Something I don't wanna use anymore is not welcome on my HD... so I want to remove it and it's not simple add/remove button... ;)

http://www.theeldergeek.com/

U might find the aswer there
This is how u can uninstall msn and i think u can do the same for wmp.

Note: If SP1 is installed this tip is pointless. Use Add/Remove Programs to remove Messenger

To add Messenger to the Add/Remove Programs feature accessible via Control Panel
Navigate to C:\Windows\inf
(If your Windows directory is different, substitute the proper drive letter)
Open sysoc.inf
Find the line that reads
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7
Change it to read
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7

Windows Messenger will now appear in Add/Remove Windows Components section of Add/Remove Programs accessible through Control Panel.

Just find the mediaplayer line and unhide it.
