Cannot change pagefile

W2K

To change it you 'set' the numbers you want and then click OK. I try to put in the suggested value being 766MB.

After clicking the OK button i get a bluescreen with message:
NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM classpnp.sys

There's sufficient disk space.
Disks are checked and defragged and OK !

try the MS knowledge base

jmke 23rd June 2003 21:53

what service pack do you have installed?

more info on this kind of error
http://www.ntcompatible.com/forums/v...ic.php?t=20415

Bosw8er 23rd June 2003 22:15

SP3

I'll write down the entire error message.

Disks should be OK.

The more i read about it, the more i think it is triggered by a disk monitoring prog like anti-vir, raid-soft, backup, ...

Will not proceed until i have the entire message.

updated IDE-drivers?

Bosw8er 24th June 2003 09:28

I use W2K SP3 which has support for the Via components.

As it is a server i try to install as few drivers as possible.

Is it recommended to install the lastest Via drivers anyway ?

jmke 24th June 2003 09:30

what motherboard is in there?

Bosw8er 24th June 2003 09:54

But i narrowed down the error - possibilities, this is the concerning error

Disabled/enabled USB on chip
Disabled Firewall + Virusscan
Uninstall raid soft
... no success

Next step
- disabled ftp server
- uninstall AVG virusscan
- Uninstall firewall
- disabled MBM
- stopped folding service

I can change the pagefile know.

you should only change 1 thing & then test it, that way you know what is causing the problem..

Bosw8er 24th June 2003 10:33

You should have known by now i do everything in reverse order.

I'll re-enable the progs one by one ... and thus finding the fç*!°*!#@&! ... somewhere today, everything works fine atm
