I totally agree with geoffrey! 1Gb of mem is rather quick becoming the standard of a mainstream pc. I personally are running 2 GB now. When I upgraded from 1 to 2 GB the performance difference was noticeable when playing games with a lot of textures to load.

If I was you I would seriously consider spending some cash on memory.

I read an Intel mobo review at overclock.net which I found really useful. From it, I decided to get the " Biostar TForce P965PT (/Deluxe)" as they have it stated. However, when checking newegg I could only find the BIOSTAR TForceP965 Would thoes two be the same motherboard? I wouldn't mind getting my friend a Biostar. I've had a good experience with a previous one.

P965 and PT965 have a different name/page on BIOSTARS's site, though both boards have the same specifications. The only difference I can see is that P965 has the Vista Ready logo.

I decided to go with the e4300+GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 instead. I'm planning on overclocking the CPU. I'm curious to know if I should get an after market CPU cooler? I was thinking the Noctua NH-U12F for the cpu, and since I hear the 965P runs hot, I was thinking of the Enzotech One-Piece Forged Round Copper Northbridge Heatsink. Do you guys think the northbridge heatsink might be overkill? Should I just leave it at stock? What about the CPU cooler?

I would go with aftermarket CPU cooler yes, especially when overclocking; would hold on the chipset cooler though, not that vital, unless you run into an FSB wall very quickly
