What to do?

Hi,

I would like to get my p4 2.4B (FSB 533) to run at 2.6.
How should I do it and is it adviseble with stock cooling?
The problem is that I have a low budget motherboard and I can't even see my cpu temp in my bios.

How should I OC my cpu to 2.6? The only thing I can change in my bios is CPU clock(mhz) and it is put on 133.
When I boot it sais p4 2.4B (133x18)

I have a Gigabyte P4 Titan 667 motherboard (sis chipset).
The GA-8SG667 to be precise.

Thanks in advance!

hi there, welcome to the forums!

the first thing to do, is to do a BIOS flash. often, more options come available. if that doesn't work, try finding a hacked BIOS.

if all else fails, change the FSB from Windows with a tool like SoftFSB

I would start the other way around, less risky = software. if needed flash bios.

but neither softFSB or Clockgen support the 8SG667

Thanks for the replies but can't I just raise the CPU clock to 144 mhz to get at 2.6?

sure, as long as your case is well ventilated you should not have any problems with a 200mhz overclock. The performance increase will be very minimal however
