is that the max OC on that P4?
or is the motherboard holding you back?

NO and NO
Geez I'm surprised you did not find that pic and post it for me too.
There was alot more to say along with those pics. some people may have actually picked up a few hints along the way. But you pre-empted all that. So you go out and search out my top cpu-z
and post it. Afterall you are my secretary/ publicist.

sorry if I offended you, wasn't my intention at all..

fitting your nick in http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...-8&q=weldzilla was too obvious, finding the 4th link also. ah well.

Hey it's an EPOX!!

It is my first Epox mobo. I bought it based on the reputaition this and other Epox boards have for OC'ing. I ran it at 303 fsb.
That is not what i was after. I run it at 3.2 for the simple fact that it renders video perfectly there. I should tell you also that it renders it extremely fast there!! I rendered some video that I had shot on my JVC DV-CAM I loaded it into pinnacle 8 studio.
(I don't use pinnacle really anymore since I found Video Vegas!!)
I rendered it and burned it to DVD. It ripped through the clips so fast I actually thought it was screwing up!! But I waited and when it finished I took a look at it and it was perfectly smooth vid and sound. This was the fastest video rendering I have seen, ever. I am happy with it's speed right where it is at. By the way the highest I pushed it was to 303FSB, 3637 mhz. @ 1.625 V-core
mem running 3:2 divider. I an ok there. but I do not like working on the edge.

that's a very nice little gem of a P4 you got there

WeldZilla 25th April 2004 22:27

Thanks jmke, I like to think the system as a whole is a gem. this was my most rigorous effort. As it turns out it was my most rewarding too. I plan on building yet another L-case this year as my son wants one too. it will be the same and yet very diiferent.
I look forward to getting going on it soon. I will let you know.
I post as you know in a few different forums. I try to let people know through words and pictures that they need not be afraid of modding. that it is almost impossible to "SCREW" it up. That is not to say that it won't come out different than you planned. But, it will come out. So relax get a few basic tools and have a little fun with it.

Aquamark

you know My last cpu was a 2.66 B Northwood. I benched it @
3350 mhz on Aquamark. which yielded a CPU score of 8271.
My new cpu is a 2.4C Northwood I ran it @3193 mhz on Aquamark which yielded a cpu score of 10409! Hyper-Threading has a dramatice effect on CPU score. Where I went wrong is when I gave my 8yr-old son my old system, I let him have my vid card with it. I picked up a new e-VGA 5900fx and it is a piece of crap compared to the old. So instead of breaking 50,000 on Aquamark I am only @ 48,985. This is a great score for a 5900fx
But, it should have been better. So my wife will inherit this one when I get my 6800.

wait for the ATI cards before putting down $$ for a new GFX card :)

WeldZilla 26th April 2004 02:42

You know I think I will wait and see what ATI has instore for us with their new cards. I will tell you however, i have owned one ATI card. Just last year i bought a 9800pro. I had it 2 weeks. Had not even OC'd it yet, and it up and died! that is why I went back to Nvidia. I have owned several and none have ever died! And I OC them into oblivion in a nightmare world. I know ATI cards are great! I am just nervous about getting another.

amazing

that is one nice functional mod

WeldZilla 15th May 2004 06:13

Had to repaint

Got home today, unhooked everything from my puter, hauled it outside and Painted it again !!! Got tired of the Pewter Gray, had
to change it. I Trimmed it with the same blue as I used on the inside. I like the outcome as the case is too large for anyone single color

WeldZilla 15th May 2004 06:15

Not finished

Going to use some fine brushes and trim it out a little more

WeldZilla 15th May 2004 06:20

that'sa better color indeed! great work :)

agent #2 15th May 2004 11:22

I like this color more then the previous. It's a great mod. :o

WeldZilla 16th May 2004 04:05

Thanks, you know I think the large case needed to be multi-colored. The single color it was, at first seemed great but,it got old very fast!!

StaRflaM 16th May 2004 09:42

it has a bit a look of a siemens computer from the old day's :) (the color)

looks nice, the front comes out better ;)

WeldZilla 16th May 2004 20:35

You know:

Sometimes people get so caught up in huge lofty ideas. That are not attainable. That they never really do anything but dream. Many have asked me about extreme cooling my rig,or a future rig.
You know the one I have when OC'd to 3637mhz @1.625 volts
only runs 37C at idle. I run an everyday clock of 3200 mhz @1.55 volts @ 30C idle. Why would I think I need more? I am a keep it simple kinda guy. You may think some of what I do is complex, however it is not. I have been working as a fabricator for years. The real key to all of this is patience. Taking on projects that you can afford and that are within reach of your skill levels. I also have noted that many simply lack the confidence and just really do not know how to get started. So they don't start. Too bad, You know if you completely butcher up a mod and are totally disgusted with yourself as long as you learned from the mistakes you made. You are further than you were when you only fantasized about modding. So I encourage all of you to go get a case, any case!! Do not worry about brand. Start with it. I seen some at a Goodwill for $1.50. There are many places that have old used cases lying about. Do not worry about air flow or what have you. That is where you come in. Your job as a modder is to not only change the look of the case but, also to improve on the characteristics of the case. You must start somewhere!! Remember to get anywhere, you must START!!!!!

Desk Modding

Well how about color coordinating?? Ok, got home today tore apart system and cleared my desk off and got busy prepping and painting.
My desk was so dreary just had to change it up! After hitting the entire top with the light blue of the case, I trimmed it with the dark blue.
This will go with my new puter much better!! you guys thought I forgot to finish this?? No way!! The monitor keyboard and mouse are next!!!

Rom Racks

Built some rom racks. Some 3/8 plywood a router with a dove tail bit.
Dovetailed the base, put in a backstop, put in a sliding stop with a reverse dovetail. That way it fits the slot in the base.Does not matter whether you are holing 10 or a 100 roms it will not slide unless you slide it!! Decided to paint them up also. That is it for tonight. Between work and the desk and the rom racks I'm whipped!

nice desk
some people buy a pc that fits the room (color, disign)
you mod a pc and change your room that match your pc

187(V)URD@ 10th July 2004 22:38

maybe change the mousepad ? :)

WeldZilla 10th July 2004 23:01

Mouse pad

yes that mouse pad has to go. Kinda hate that it is the best I've used. the right amount of smooth. Perhaps I can dye it blue?
What can I say I love my mouse pad.
