the stacker

well, just reading the other thread (cm-koolance cases), I was looking into the stacker and had some thoughts...
since the psu can be put on the down side of the case, you could easily fit a triple 120mm rad on top of this case...
just wondering if a prommy hose gets far enough into this case to get to the socket...
probably not...
otherwise this would be an extremist case avant la lettre.

sdf1000 10th May 2004 11:59

OK,

so who would go for the CM Stacker or say, the Koolance PC2-901BW?

jmke 10th May 2004 12:00

Stacker :)

RichBa5tard 10th May 2004 12:19

Yup, stacker!

Bosw8er 10th May 2004 13:32

http://www.coolermaster.com.br/Cebit...STC-T01_OK.swf

support up to 3 x 120mm fans

say no more !

The Senile Doctor 10th May 2004 16:05

more than that my friend, one in the back with two 80mms below and up to three oin the front depending how much 5.25 inch bays you wish to fill :)

jmke 10th May 2004 16:07

and there is a radial fan in the center of the case between drive cages and mobo space it seems, looking at the .swf file

Xploited Titan 10th May 2004 18:51

There's indeed a 300mm radial fan... one 120mm near mobo, three 120mm possible on front... one 80mm on top and two 80mm possible on the bottom... 8 fans in total...

It will cost near the 200€'s...

You're talking to the guy who has been robbed the most when buying a case... 200€ extra :( :grum: Never I'll order like I did, the shop hadn't the case, and colorcase.be was unknown to my ears (and they got the same case only 2 months later :grum: )... If I hadn't been robbed like that, I would have gotten the possibility to buy a Stacker... :( :spank:

Roswell 11th May 2004 18:58

Stacker costs 177 euro @ www.descom.be

Cross-flow-fan (300mm thingie) is optional.

Case will be available end of this week, beginning of next week. And it'll be mine from the moment it's there.. been waiting for it since i saw the picture of it a big month ago.

Sidney 11th May 2004 20:07

Should get one for our review.

The Senile Doctor 15th May 2004 21:37

it's availmable in red, blue and silver :)
yuk, yuk and ok

Roswell 17th May 2004 18:19

Update:
just got news from pc-shop, Stacker will be available in 4 weeks for 146 euro (cross-flow fan is optional)

Xploited Titan 18th May 2004 07:59

There's a french review on the web about it: a bit too many flaws... therefore, CM will delay the coming of the case to solve the most important ones...

Xploited Titan 19th May 2004 21:15

Btw, one of the reviewers (they were two) could not take off the front bezel with the FDD hole, and another one has cut his fingers in trying to do it (well, he succeeded in taking it off ^^ )...

So, they're gonna solve these problems and delay the entry of this case in our shops...

Things keep on changing. First it was included, then not, then it was...

Same for availability ... first it was april then it was begin may, it keeps getting post-poned :(

@ price: add some 120mm papsts and you'll get at 200 euro. Either way it's mine as soon it gets available

FreeStyler 22nd May 2004 10:12

all I need now is some good HD racks (5in3 design) and I'm off.
Coupled with the new nForce Ultra 400GB chipset that's comming by the end of june, will make a nice fileserver.

Roswell 27th May 2004 17:54

http://www.planet3dnow.de/artikel/ha...er/index.shtml

17 page review

They say the cross-flow fan will cost 35 euro and seems not to make to much of a difference on temperature (alltough mainboard depending)

Either way, mine is allready ordered, can't wait to test him out for myself.

Make some yourself?
2 re-inforced U-shaped metal plates and drill the holes at the place you want them...

Orion23 29th May 2004 00:23

Hi! For people in the US, http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...119-042&depa=0 is offering the CM Stacker in SILVER, which I've been waiting for.

Here is a link to a review in English:

http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles...cid=22&id=1121

What I'd like to know is if this case is now a new version of the one reviewed by different websites and which showed many "flaws"

Xploited Titan 29th May 2004 07:00

Normally, the stacker's outcome has been postponed... I don't remember when the topic started, but I think it's a bit premature...

PS: flaws ;)

http://www.sun.com/servers/entry/v250/features.xml
