searching nf7-s mods + ti4200mods tomorrow I will buy a solder station. And I'm planning to do some mods on my nf7-s rev2 and my abit siluro gf4ti4200 64MB. But I'm still searching for guides for those voltmods. Does someone know where I can find them? Need to be vmods with a trimmer. So I can regulate the voltage. I allready found this mods http://s6.invisionfree.com/undercloc...p?showtopic=53 http://www.madshrimps.be/gotofaqlink.php?linkid=2578 http://www.over-clock.com/ivb/index.php?showforum=31 http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread...threadid=65004 http://www.motherboardfaqs.com/content.php?content.15 I need a vdimm mod so I can push my BH-5 ram a bit higher. Now 235Mhz@2.96V I gonna change that vdd mod (pencil) with one with a resistor I need some other mods too. I don't get the meaning of a Vtt/Vbt mod and a Vbt=Vdd so can someone explain it to me. I know it's to make your motherboard more stable at high fsb, but thats all. Does someone know wich guides I got to follow. Or does someone know same better mods. I also need guides of mods for my ti4200. But I don't find them :( :offtopic: does someone have a nforce 2 mobo, a graka or/and a cheap atx case for sale. I want to make a second pc to put linux on. Need it for school |

with the cdimm mod I need only the trimmer, the fixed resistor I only need when I screw up the other resistor (smd) on the mobo??? |
correctamento :) Vtt should always be half of chipset voltage Vbt is something else, don't remember what :/ I asked once cuz I thought vtt was the same as vbt but apparently, it's not the same I don't know if vbt should be the same as vdd, I think that was needed with infinity/lanparty axp boards but it's all gotten very vague :( |
saw your thread on tictac forum kristos, asked a few questions myself.;) |
got my solder station, gonna do a vdimm mod tomorrow. |
:super: same here, swapped the nf7's again. reading your thread "vmodding rules" or something it gave me hope again so I'm going to try to mod it tomorrow :) I'm a bit more cofindent offcourse but also, still a bit weary of it because after all, it will only be the seccond time I mod something so delicate. this is a newer nf7, with colored dimm's but it performed exactly the same as the other one when both were unmodded. |
well, I got a older nf7-s rev2 and on my board the mod helped like you can see :). I hope it works on your board too. 268fsb is really :o. Gonna try that tomorrow with divider 1:1 after the vdimm mod. :D. I hope tomorrow will be a very cold day. So my cpu can run cool. btw, what kind of wires should I use for the voltmod? Are ide cables ok??? |
well... some say ide cables are "perfect" for the job, others say it can't take the heat and/or current so it's really up to you. malves swears by cut up ide cables but HaLDoL (or however you write that :p) told me he had some problems with mods done with cut up ide cables, when done with some "descent" wires, the problems were gone... |

gonna try it with ide cable, if it gives some problems I gonna change them with some good bicycle light cables :D edit: lol I've writen gold instead of good. |
well, I cut an old phonewire up, it has thinner cables in case I would have to solder in very crampy areas... |
i used old psu cables ( from the floppy connections ) they are just perfect |
donne a vdimm mod today. It was very difficult. And I hitted my ide connectors a few times with a hot solder iron :D |

wich one did you do? |
|
I found soldering to the resistor easy, with enough solder on the bottom of the wire, it almost immdiately sticks when you heat the wire. with the ground I had some problems too, I found getting some solder on the screwhole first and then soldering the wire to that spot to be much easier. |

and I do? :p took me a couple of tries just because of the unsteady hand (no I don't have clips to hold the wire in place :)) but then i got it right. I had some major problems soldering to that mosfet leg or whatever that chip is. In fact in the end I fumbled the wire underneath, folded it back, twisted it together, tinned it and shoved some shrink wire over it (krimpkous). pulled it under the soutbridge sink to stop it from moving and possibly hit other naked parts of components. I gotta plug this glue gun in and secure it properly :) |

BH-5 is rated at 3.6v |

that might help stability :) |
could you give me a site with some more info on the 3in1 mod |
http://s6.invisionfree.com/undercloc...?showtopic=100 watch out, the vtt mod is quiet dangerous. Haven't tried it yet. Will a mobo still work if you remove the mod? Thats the question |
dangerous? why? not that I doubt your word, I just never heard about issues with the vtt mod. not with the wire, not with the VR. |
