Saved my P4C800E-Dlx w/OCZ PLtnm3500 Limited!

I couldn't run 300FSB+ on my new Asus P4C800E-Deluxe no matter what I did, after flashing and even back-flashing the BIOS. When I'd first got the board I immediately booted and ran at 310FSB, for 3750MHz. Well it wouldn't run Sandra Memory benchmarks at that speed, so I replaced the memory, and flashed the BIOS from the shipping to 1011. Well that was the end of 310FSB overclock's, as well as using ANY divisors?

I almost got rid of this board until I got a kit of OCZ Platinum EL3500 Limited Edition, and the rest is history. It seems the CAS-2-2-2-6 is what the divisor's on the Asus crave. They just won't run on the CAS-3 DDR500 SPD's. Eeven when I tried to tighten the timmmings o the OCZ Premeir PC4200 to CAS-2.5, it was no go. That's because Canterwood is unstable when it comes to CAS to RAS. Irregardless, this is just the beginning of my overcocking and benchmarking, and I have OCZ DDR EL3500 Platinum Limited Edition to thank. Sure the name is long, but FSB is and speed is way high!

are you freezing parts of your body off the obtain those temps? ;)

Liquid3D 12th November 2003 16:01

Well I had on wool socks, wool underwear, and a wool cap, but I think the fact the Radiator in on the floor just beneath the open window, account's for the temps. And I have a good aluminum cae, which is also just below the open window, with it's Sdie Panel removed.

I haven't seen my breath yet, but in another few weeks I will be hehe. I have the heat completely truned off. As I'm in an apartment/rooming building and on the 3rd floor, I don't even need to turn it on. Although it can get just a tad nippy.

:hello:

Hey there Gamer if your Prometeia's currently in for servicing, how the heck, are you running that CPU at 4.1GHz?

Gamer 13th November 2003 07:58

I've got it back, it's fixed now.

running better then before. :)

Liquid3D 17th November 2003 13:53

I'm getting mine fixed soon. Here's a 3.0C I can't seem to get past 255FSB no matter how much voltage, or what features I enable/disable.

But what's weird is I used ClockGen to adjust the FSB from 255FSb to 260FSB, raising the frequency from 3824MHz, to 3911MHz. It seemed to take (I tried this about five times) but CPUID, nor Sandra acknowledged the change? CPUZ did however?

I don't trust ClockGen, RB had problems with it to.

Liquid3D 22nd November 2003 05:46

What's "ClockGen RB"?

The Senile Doctor 22nd November 2003 06:12

just cockgen,
RB = richbastard
