Prometeia

Ok, so as a few around this forum know, I'm going to buy a prom machII as soon as I have the money (e.g. 1 month)

Now, I had about 2 watercoolings, a few high end aircoolings, but never a phase change cooling (Subzero degree system)

now, i know a few around here have/had a prom, i need to know what to be sure to have under controll and thing i shouldn't ever see over my head... This is an expensive system, and if you waste a chip by crushing the core/burning (Don't doubt that will happen, but bad installation of the ''heatsink'' may cause stuff like this)

just throw your Tricks 'n Tips to me :p

with prom, no probs, just read instructions.

Someone gave me this trick one day to work with the vapo.
Maybe it also works for the prom.
It's for AMD offcourse, just but isolating tape around the core, just like a shim, approx. the same height as you core.
The tape will bend a bit down when pressure applied, so better then a shim which will not bend.
I think it is a better solution

pm or mail me @ guy.cnockaert@pandora.be for huge prometeia-order!

* yes pretty loud @ boot
* normally it should be able to , but I wouldn't take any risks with suck extreme cooling power

The Senile Doctor 25th April 2003 17:54

nieuwe prometeia is beduidend stiller, en je kunt dat NATUURLIJK 24/7 laten aanliggen...
wordt in meerdere firma's zelfs gebruikt als zekerheid van stabiliteit!

ah wasn't your case half frozen when there was condensation and you weren't around to notice it?

or how about the time you couldn't boot your machine and you found out that your cpu had been pushed out of its socket by ice? :)

Evangeliz 25th April 2003 18:12

fan van cpu cooler kan ook uitvallen
ook pomp van watercooling.
You never know what might happen, but anyway phase change is in my humble opinion not to be left alone

I've been last week to gertthehert, he has bought the prommy from Rossi.

While booting and pre cooling it's pretty loudn but when it's "on teperature", it's a quit normal sound, not really loud
