Probleempje met XP2400+ System spec: AMD XP 2400+ Asus A7N8X (nforce2) 2*512 PC3200 RAM Hercules 9800 pro Aircooled CPU: AXSA2400DKV3C AIUCB0241XPBW Now I thought that my processor should be unlocked, because it's on a nforce2 board. But it seems not to be so. When I change my FSB and multiplier the system doesn't post, just a black screen.. Next to that, my RAM is running at 133Mhz, shouldn't it run at 200 ?? Thanks for any answers/advice. stain |
AMD's after week 39 are locked, no mobo in the world can unlock it. If you had a VIA chipset, you could mod it into a mobile. The RAM is running synchronous with your FSB (FSB=266DDR so 133MHz). //edit; hm, was that lock introduced in 2002 or 2003 ? Try lowering the mult and leave the fsb. |
I have the same problem, but only after I switched my memory sticks. So I know my cpu is unlocked but I can't change the fsb anymore :puke: with my previous sticks it was no problem reaching 200 fsb with my barton 2500 on my nf7 |
Ok, I lowered my multiplier from 15 to 13 resulting in 13*133=1730 mhz That worked fine, so I guess it's unlocked.. What Might be the problem causing the black screen then? Also, I can't increase my FSB by 1. I have to select either 133 166 or 200. Thanks for any help. stain |
if I remember well, you should select advanced or manual somewhere. |
Kay I think i solved my problem :) For the people with the same problem: Black screen is caused by too low vcore settings, increase it. And to be able to increase FSB by 1 on a Asus A7N8X you have to go to advanced chipset features --> system performance --> user defined. Cheers stain |
