possition casefan on cpu?

I'm planning a cut-out with plexi and a casefan blowing on my cpu.

I only got 1 question. Should I place te casefan directly on the cpu or move it a bit so it cools the mosfets, northbridge better?

Case fan cooling;

Side Blowholes: These are simple enough, you have them either over your PCI Cards, your AGP card or your processor. Or all three if your case is large enough and you've got a Dremel (or equivalent) and some spare time. Can really help with cooling, but this will cause a lot of turbulence in your case as the air has no obvious route to follow and simply disturbs the existing airflow. It's been found that if you have a blowhole directly over your CPU then you can supply the CPU with room temperature air, thus significantly decreasing the temperature at which your CPU runs. It has also been found that if you have these blowholes that you can decrease the temperature of your video card but at the cost of increasing the temperature of your CPU. One final note on this. If your CPU has a fan which blows outwards, i.e sucks air throughthe heatsink and then exhausts out the top then you could also have a blowhole (or should it be called suckhole?) which can remove then vent the hot air out of your case. I'm not sure what effect this would have on general airflow/temperature of video cards etc. But if someone has this kind of setup let me know.

so side casefan directly over the CPU. Gonna put a 120mm in my zalman PSU too I think. It's getting to hot in my case.

120 mm casefan in top , make a big hole in the bottom of the case. this will help and wont make a lot of noise

don't want to screw up my top panel like some people did :grin:.
If I mod my PSU it is less visible and it will cool maybe a bit less, but I don't want to screw up my case. If something goes wrong with my sidepanel I can always buy an other. BTW, I don't think there is enough room in my wavemaster to place a 120 mm fan, maybe if I remove the stuff my PSU is located in.. But then the top fan woudn't be located in the middle anymore, and that would be quiet ugly I think.
