Point of view 7800GT (for Gamer)

3 Attachment(s)
Voltage of the GPU
  • Standard voltage = 1.206v
  • IC: (ISL)6563CRZ
  • Link to datasheet
  • FB = pin6 = 245 ohm => 5k VR between pin6 and GND (pin7)
  • Both OVP and OCP present (will look into that, if necessary)

Voltage of the MEMORY
  • Standard voltage = 2.06v
  • IC: (ISL)6549CBZ
  • Link to datasheet
  • FB = pin4 = 621 ohm => 5k or 10k VR between pin4 and GND (pin7)
  • No OVP, no OCP
  • Memory type: Infineon HYB18T256324F-20
  • Maximum voltage determined by manufacturer: 2.5V

Not tested.

Isn't standard voltage for the GPU 1.4v ?
I already flashed it to 1.5v.

Massman 15th November 2009 16:54

Hm; must be 2D voltage then?

Gamer 15th November 2009 19:58

Yep, that's it.

Massman 15th November 2009 21:08

I guess even 1.6V is possible through bios flashing?

Gamer 15th November 2009 21:29

Nope, it was 1.4, max is 1.5.

Massman 15th November 2009 21:57

voltage IC suggests 1.6V through software is possible.

Gamer 7th December 2009 18:51

Are these fixed yet ?:)

Massman 13th December 2009 20:45

1 card at 50% ... now I'm out of 10k VR's LOL

Gamer 13th December 2009 21:04

Huh ?

Massman 13th December 2009 21:11

Prett pleased with the result. I used tape so if you want to sell these cards, you can just remove the VR :)

geoffrey 18th December 2009 10:10

How good does that hold when actually using the pots?

Massman 18th December 2009 10:24

I strongly recommend holding the pots as well when you turn. I always do it like this and it works perfectly.

geoffrey 18th December 2009 11:21

To make it harder to detect you might aswell put them VR's on a small Velleman PCB and use long wires. Easier to handle but looks more experimental.

Massman 18th December 2009 14:18

harder to detect?

geoffrey 18th December 2009 14:55

'easier to adjust', dunno how 'harder to detect' came up there, has nothing to do with it :-/

Massman 18th December 2009 18:01

Are you engaging yourself in criminal activities? :p

geoffrey 18th December 2009 18:08

I was still being in Fallout 3 sneak mode I guess :)

Massman 18th December 2009 18:09

*Googling Fallout 3*

leeghoofd 18th December 2009 18:21

54K done with 3d01 with CPU at 4.5Ghz on a dirty old sodding winXP with bad drivers and old fart behind the keyboard

Gamer 18th December 2009 18:23

With my cards ?
coolio :)

Thanks PJ, can you mail them to me ?
And maybe the 7600Gt's too ?

Expense in on me.
