Which OS for best 3DMark2001 scores? I noticed that I got my best stock (non-overclocked) scores under Windows 2000 (serivce pack 2), with my nForce IGP I could hit 2400 3DMarks without much tweaking. When I "upgraded" to Windows XP my stock speeds dropped down to 2200. With APIC enabled I was able to recover to 2600 3DMarks, but I wonder would I hit maybe 3000 3DMarks with Windows 2000 again? I've seen some lofty scores for the nForce IGP on the ORB, and they all are using Win2K

Only the two first ppl at the top at the ORB with the nforce GPU use win2K, all the other use winXP and are behind with just a few points. I don't think it makes that much a difference... By the way, (almost) all the big blokes with a GF4 Ti4600 use winXP, i should stick with winXP too if I were you. 2600 3D marks? Still 300 to go if you wanna be at the top!

Heh, those guys at the top of the ORB using the nForce are overclocking their IGP big time. If I were to OC my IGP... hehehe. I only have passive cooling on it, maybe i'll pop some kind of fan on it and then proceed... I bet I could reach 3000 3Dmarks no problem! Now, If only i could find a small good fan...

That shouldn't be a problem. I'm suprised you didn't change the cooling yet! Trying to reach the top with passive cooling? Hehe... :wtf2: Just by yourself a crystal orb, that should be more than efficiënt cooling! :^)

I'm sure OPP tested this out and he said it on icrontic (and the 3DMark proof is there, like you noticed), so for his sytems this seems to be the case
