Order of watercooling components? I hear many theories on what is the best order of components for watercooling, but they are never followed up with any numbers ;) So, for those madshrimps that have watercooling, which order of the pump, radiator, reservoir, rad, blocks (gpu, cpu, northbridge) is best for you? Is it better to have the radiator just before the CPU so that the water hits the CPU block at its coldest? or is it best to have the water pass thru everything and then hit the rad ??? |
Pump -> CPU -> OtherStuff -> Reservoir -> Pump is how I achieved the lowest CPU temps |
My setup: Code: CPU<--------double RAD If you put the rad at the beginning, you're res will heat up slowly but your CPU/GPU will always have cool water no matter what. When you put your rad at the end, your res AND CPU/GPU will always have cool water, but, when you water is hot (eg. because you turned the radiatorfans of for an hour), it's very hard to cool it back to ambient temp. |

Otherstuff = incl rad :) |
my setup was : pump, cpu, gpu, rad and reservoir. didn't tested it otherwise. |
my setup is res (5 liter -> will become a 14 liter one in a few weeks), cpu, (gpu soon), rad, res rad has 1 enermax 120 mm fan at lowest 12v speed |
|
i have pump>rad>cpu>res>pump again didn't tried it otherwise but i think it depends on the size of the res |
