excellent results there windwithme! |
Overclocked performance: CPU 247X12=>3467Mhz DRAM DDRII 811 CL3 3-3-9 EVEREST Super PI and CPU MARK99 PCMARK2005 7900GS 3DMARK2003 3DMARK2005 The performance did have great enhance after overclock, because it¡¦s Single-Core, so the temp. is lower the Dual-Core processors. Take a break and wait for further extreme testing. |
a single core is silly nowadays I think the cheap Pentium Ds are a great budget choice for the average joe and Intel can use it's 90 nm factories to make them leaving 65 for the better CPUs. |
Though, mulitplier 14 will make this a damm nice chip to overclock when you have phase change cooling available. I think those might go all the way to 5GHz (wich isn't possible with E6300/E6400 due to the low multiplier), and so this 1Mb chip might give you better benchmark results then Allendale CPU's. I'm speaking of overclocked results. To bad I allready have this E6300 :) |
Testing platform setup: CPU:Intel Conroe-L 2.8G 1MB MB: MSI P965 Platinum DRAM:CORSAIR Dominator TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF VGA:Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX HD:Seagate 7200.7 80GB POWER:Corsair HX620W Modular Power Supply Cooler:TT Sonic Tower Keep go on with limited testing. CPU 243X14=>3411Mhz DRAM DDRII 811 CL3 3-3-9 Super PI 32M Upgrade the VGA to 8800GTX with default setup testing: 3DMARK2003 3DMARK2005 3DMARK2006 Keep the best in the last, the limited of this Conroe-L. So far the 65nm Dual Core Conroe overclock limited is about 3.5G to 4GHz due to the different produced week and quality. When Conroe-L coming out, I think the frequency won¡¦t be that high, might be under 2GHz for Intel¡¦s entry product segment, Conroe-L have great availability with overclock, the temp. is also lower then Dual Core version, so I think the overclock range is also about 3~4 GHz! This time the test with many pictures, because the performance is great when in the high overclock frequency. Believe or not, Conroe-L will push the single Core processors into a better generation, let¡¦s wait and see! Announced some coming up test from Windwithme here! Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX DFI INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G CORSAIR Dominator TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF MSI 975X Platinum PowerUp Edition |
this CPU is looking quite good in the OC department, with 14x multiplier, you don't need a very high FSB to reach the CPU limit. by reducing FSB overclock you decrease risk of data corruption and other problems if the mobo can't handle it |
Any plans on using phase change cooling Windwithme? |
The new "celeron" is fast :) |
