Default my 2800 is underclocked..

arlight.. i cant realy give you the specs EXCEPT.. for the processor and the Mobo

processor AMD XP 2800+
Mobo asus a7v8x-x ("x series")

right now its clock speed is at 2.08.. but that seems low for a 2800 isnt it suposted to be 2.8?

nope

a 2800 runs @ 2083, fsb 166
don't go comparing that to intel coz, it's faster than a 2800 mhz intel

amd doens't do the mhz hype like intel, they do the PR rating hype

what's that cpu doing unoverclocked anyway?
you want more mhz, well add some then

he's not correct by a long shot!

your CPU is running at 2.08ghz, that is the NORMAL speed for a new Barton 2800+ AMD CPU. If you want to overclock it you'll have to increase the "front side speed bus" in your BIOS, but unless you have good cooling be prepared to know how to do a CMOS reset

that's true, the 2600+ tbred runs at 2083MHz.
Then again, the multi or fsb could be off...
Or the mobo or the CPU could be faulty, oh I'm having such an interesting day ...
